I like your essay on trauma and the importance of finding spirituality as an important step on our path to healing. I look back at my life and see how that’s evolved. I’ve never been traditionally religious but always “seeking.” Lately I’ve landed on finding inspiration in the resilience of Texas nature as my primary driver of “joy,” which is a major theme of my memoir-in-progress. Wonderful idea, Texas nature. It is interesting, how you say you are not traditional yet spiritual. I have a traditional side - I am Jew, albeit a very non-traditional Jew. I love the rituals and the culture. The tai chi part, for me, keeps me really steady in the spirituality and the gratitude.
