The Nancy Pearl Award announced this Saturday, Sept. 21st - Alle a finalist
Author signings tonight and tomorrow night at the PNWA annual conference.
Each fall, The Pacific Northwest Writers Association’s fall conference—featuring a weekend full of agent and editor meetings as well as panels and workshops—offers writing contests for published as well as unpublished authors.
(As the 2024 winners will be announced this weekend, the deadlines have past; there’s always next year!)
As Far as You Can Go Before You Have to Come Back is one of three finalists for Best Book: Literary or Contemporary Fiction. I’ve read the other two novels; competition is stiff! However, in support of each other and what we agree are three moving and important novels, we three finalists have been connoitering online and plan to have dinner together Friday night.
Speaking of Friday night—and Saturday night, as we are on the subject; what subject? YES! Author signings!
There are author signings. I will be there, wielding a big pen! (The bookstore is open throughout the conference, except for Sunday. Friday night and Saturday night, following the programming.) Please do drop by, even if you don’t buy the novel. I’d love to meet you. Mention that we know each other from Substack.
Wonderful news!
I'm only halfway through the book but it is excellent. Well-written and compelling.
