1. Take charge of setting up a meet-up for the various Binders that you are in. You know the area. Choose the bar (near the Convention Center), choose the time, send out the announcement. People will show up and thank you for it.
2. On site, there is an open-to-all12-step program every morning. Maybe 8am? And every evening (Maybe 6pm). If you are in program and the conference messes with your regular meeting schedule, these are well-attended meetings full of recovery. It’s a miracle, to have the well to draw from, in the middle of something so business oriented.
3. Set yourself a simple goal for the conference: talk to editors at five literary magazines; talk to three authors about potential blurbs. I always feel inspired about my work after attending a conference where I’ve met my goal.
